No matter what your background is, you want to have genuine, candid wedding photography. A first look at a wedding is an intimate moment where the bride and groom see each other before the wedding ceremony.
1. IT CALMS THE NERVES
On the day of the wedding there’s a lot of buildup to the ceremony, you know you’re going to have to speak in front of a crowd of people, and all eyes will be on you. If you get nervous around crows and you don’t like to be the center of attention then you should definitely do the first look. The first look normally takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.
2. TIME OUT
Planning a wedding is stressful and let’s face it you are planning the wedding so other people can enjoy the day with you, so taking time out to pause and doing the first look gives you some alone time to breathe and enjoy each other before the festivities began.
3. MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PICTURES
A lot of couples want a private emotional moment between them and their soon-to-be spouses. A first look is a perfect way to truly share your emotion without being the center of attention. You two will be able to enjoy a private moment where all there is you two. You will also have a lot more time to get a candid intimate portraits of you and your spouse.
If you don’t want to do the first look with your future hubby you can always do it with your parents or bridesmaids or both.
